At the first and second glance
After graduating as an industrial engineer, Melanie Neumann (24) enrolled in our Trainee Program for Graduates, her interest aroused by the company's many and diversified activities around the world, its wide range of business lines and the varied assignments the 24-month traineeship promised.
Today she recaps her experiences as follows: "It wasn't easy to see clearly through the maze of business lines operated by MAN Ferrostaal at first. But once I did get to know the company a little better, I quickly realise there was hardly a place that could be more exciting."
Melanie Neumann's personal and professional advancement was complemented by a tutoring program, regular oral reports by the heads of departments and evenings by the fireplace with members of the executive board. But perhaps even more valuable was her full integration into her project team: "I was allowed to go my own way and organise my own work as I saw fit, yet I was advised by experienced colleagues along the way."
Her project work allowed her to contribute to international power plant construction, project financing in South Africa and the establishment of MAN Houses all around the globe.
Today Melanie Neumann is on the top of the world at MAN Ferrostaal. Subsequent to completing her traineeship, she could not refuse our follow-up offer to join us in a professional capacity.
