New MAN House in Jakarta consolidates activities
MAN increases its commitment to Indonesia
21.02.2008 -
In a traditional ceremony the MAN Group announced the establishment of a new MAN House in Jakarta today in line with the Group’s aim to strengthen its commitment in Asia. The MAN House in Jakarta will now be the centerpoint of the common sales and services platform of MAN Ferrostaal, MAN Truck & Bus and MAN TURBO.
The MAN House was inaugurated by Hans-Joachim Delventhal in the presence of Dr. Klaus Lesker, Member of the Executive Board of MAN Ferrostaal AG. The launching event commenced with a special address by Dr Kusmayanto Kadiman, Indonesian State Minister for Research and Technology. The event was well attended by 300 customers, business partners, and MAN executives from the region and from Europe.
MAN began operating in Indonesia in 1895 when it first supplied rails to the State. From that time onwards, the MAN Group has further penetrated the Indonesian market and introduced a number of industrial products and services to the country. Among them were large diesel engines for independent power plants; turbomachinery for the oil and gas industry; as well as steel plants and printing and packaging machines. In the future, MAN plans to strengthen its position in the transport-related, power generation, oil and gas and petrochemical industries in Indonesia. In addition, it will also focus its efforts in environmental technologies such as renewable energies, particularly solar energy and biofuels processing plants.
Other MAN Houses which will open outside of Europe include Kuala Lumpur, Moscow and Mumbai in 2008. MAN Houses in Beijing, Dubai, Mexico and Lima opened last year. With the realigned business structure formed by MAN Houses, the MAN Group is creating a common business platform to provide clients with a more convenient, centralized access to the various MAN products.
