Coach chassis / coaches, Mexico
Sales and services by MAN Ferrostaal Méxiko
As early as 2004 we enabled our sister company NEOMAN to enter the Mexican coach market, where we were awarded the largest order for coaches our company has ever received.
Just three years after entering the market we had made a name for ourselves as a manufacturer of coaches made in Mexico. MAN Ferrostaal Méxiko has already expanded its exclusive sales and services to MAN Nutzfahrzeuge trucks. In 2006 there were over a thousand MAN vehicles on the road in Mexico – all fitted with MAN technology for commercial vehicles. This success was based on talks with the key coach operators in Mexico, close collaboration with NEOMAN and MAN Nutzfahrzeuge, the high-speed setup of an assembly site, and the establishment of a national sales and services network.

Production-line coaches – In order to keep short the routes from the chassis to the superstructure manufacturer we opened together with MAN Nutzfahrzeuge in Querétaro, Mexico, a top-equipped production and assembly site in the neighbourhood of the IRIZAR coach factory, for four times the production capacity. This is to produce one thousand vehicles a year until 2010.
Creating new sales markets
Utilising synergies, tapping market potential – In line with our motto "one face to the customer”, the one contact for services, maintenance, and warranties, we set up a sales and services network for coaches and trucks, with MAN Nutzfahrzeuge at our side. Our objective is to create sixteen service bases throughout the country. In addition, we intend in future to combine systematically the strengths of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge as a producer of high-quality transport solutions and MAN Ferrostaal as an international sales and services platform and to offer these to the other regions of the world. After the successful entry on the coach and truck market in
Mexico, sales have now commenced in the other countries of
Latin America as well.
The role of MAN Ferrostaal Mexiko goes beyond the business line with MAN commercial vehicles. Our subsidiary in Mexico is where the activities of MAN Turbo, MAN Diesel, and the MAN Ferrostaal machine line meet. Our clients include the largest industries in Mexico like oil and gas refineries, petrochemicals, foodstuffs, glass, sodium, calcium, steel, and nitrogen. What we have realised successfully here, we are now setting up in a great many regions and countries. We utilise our global sales and services network for setting up MAN Houses providing clients with access to the products and services of the MAN Group.
2002/2003
MAN Ferrostaal México completed the order from the company TRANSPAIS for 125 coach chassis for 360 and 460 hp engines. A follow-up order from the IAMSA Group was for 354 chassis plus superstructure.
