Melamine

In 2006 we have agreed on a contract for the erection of a further seven plants with MHTL. These are intended for the production of ammonia, urea-ammonia nitrate and melamine. With an order volume of 1.2 billion US dollars, for which we bear responsibility, this contract is one of the largest in our company history. With this contract both, we and MHTL are expanding our market position in petrochemicals. In comparison to methanol and ammonia, melamine is a much more refined commodity. MHTL is thereby able to increase its real net output ratio in processing gas. In order to ensure the availability of this technology for the future as well, we have recently purchased a licensor for the production of melamine, the Italian company Eurotecnica.
