Our commitment in Trinidad for producing methanol and ammonia has proved highly successful for us and our customers. All plants were completed before the dates stipulated, produce more than originally agreed at a reliable and high quality rate of output. Profits from existing plants have always been invested in new plants. Seven plants were developed in record time, including the largest methanol plant in the world. The background of this success is the fact that our partners were always the same and supported continuation of this successful model.

This is why we transfer this model to other regions and onto other products for our customers:
according to the established model we are currently building a methanol plant in Oman, and we are also in the process of building seven more plants in Trinidad. They produce ammonia, urea-ammonia nitrate and melamine. Especially melamine is of interest to our customers, because it is a considerably more refined commodity than methanol and hence increases the real net output ratio for our customers. The new plant complexes are scheduled for completion in 2009. A total of 13 plants will then be operating in Trinidad, all erected in just 16 years.
